We live in an information-saturated world in which people have more and more answers at their fingertips, but also more difficultly to access the information that they really need. How do we distinguish what matters from the irrelevant, reliable information from the inaccurate, the information that exactly corresponds to our level of needs? In this context, the presence of a professional who knows how to search, assess and communicate properly what matters according to our needs becomes essential.

The information mediator and manager programme seeks to provide the tools which are necessary to develop this profile of person, who will play the role of a consultant and intermediary between the people (regardless of their age, occupation or education) and the multifaceted and ever-changing information.

The course is designed for experts in any field who wish to direct their career towards the role of a mediator in their area of expertise, including librarians or general information managers who want to retrain and give a boost to their profession would benefit from this course. Currently, all fields of interests require people who can carry out this task of bringing information closer to people.

To meet the objectives of the programme, leading experts in each of the areas covered in the course outline will take part, who will give their all in their role as advisors so that the learning process is satisfactory, participants complete the course with their own individual project and acquire the skills that we believe are necessary for the profile we described: information manager and mediator.
